The new TE lance-less terminals have replaced the original design with a stamped-out window on the terminal underside. The new feature slides over a locking tab in the housing cavity and produces an audible click to ensure the terminal is fully seated. The contacts are secured by a secondary locking device by inserting a TPA retainer. This is a recently added feature that includes 12-position breakaway style contact retainers that prevent the contacts from backing out due to random vibration.
