OnlineComponents Search — Claude Connector

Connect Claude to OnlineComponents Search to look up electronic components directly inside your conversation — no need to leave Claude to check stock, pricing, or specs.

What this connector does

Once connected, Claude can:

• Search the full electronic components catalog by manufacturer, part number, or keyword
• Retrieve current stock levels and lead times
• Pull list pricing and quantity price breaks
• Check packaging options and ordering rules (minimum order quantities, reels vs. cut tape, etc.)
• Check lifecycle status (active, NRND, obsolete, etc.)
• Compare alternative parts

This is useful for engineers and buyers who want to quickly find parts, compare alternatives, or check availability without leaving their conversation with Claude.

Getting started

1. In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors.
2. Add OnlineComponents Search (or, if using a custom connector, paste the server URL: https://mcp.onlinecomponents.com/mcp).
3. Click Connect and sign in with your OnlineComponents account credentials when prompted.
4. Once connected, enable it for any conversation using the + button in the chat composer.

Authentication

This connector uses OAuth 2.0. When you connect, you'll be redirected to sign in with your existing OnlineComponents.com account (or create one if you don't have one). Claude never sees or stores your password — only a scoped access token issued after you approve the connection.

Example prompts

Here are a few things you can ask Claude once the connector is enabled:

• "Find the current stock and pricing for part number LM358N." Claude looks up the part, returning live stock levels and quantity price breaks.
• "Compare alternatives to the TPS7A4700 voltage regulator from other manufacturers." Claude searches the catalog for functionally similar parts and lays out the differences.
• "Is the ATmega328P-PU still active, or is it heading toward obsolescence?" Claude checks and reports the part's current lifecycle status.
• "What's the minimum order quantity and packaging options for reel vs. cut tape on part XYZ123?" Claude retrieves ordering rules and packaging details for that specific part.
