OnlineComponents MCP Plugin Terms of Service

Effective Date: [Sep 15, 2026]

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the OnlineComponents MCP Plugin, including its tools, services, integrations, and related functionality (collectively, the “Plugin”).

The Plugin is provided by Onlinecomponents.com, a division of Master International Corporation, doing business as Master Electronics (“OnlineComponents,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

By connecting to, accessing, or using the Plugin, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not connect to or use the Plugin.

1. Plugin functionality

The Plugin allows supported artificial-intelligence platforms, including ChatGPT, to interact with OnlineComponents services.

Depending on the features available, the Plugin may help users:

  • Search for electronic components.

  • Retrieve product descriptions and specifications.

  • Check pricing and availability.

  • Find manufacturers, alternatives, or related products.

  • Access product pages, datasheets, quotes, or support resources.

  • Perform other functions made available by OnlineComponents.

Features may be added, changed, restricted, or removed at any time.

2. Eligibility and authority

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms.

If you use the Plugin on behalf of a company or another organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf. In that case, “you” includes that organization.

3. Product information and AI-generated responses

Information returned through the Plugin may be processed, summarized, reformatted, or presented by an artificial-intelligence platform.

AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or different from the information displayed directly on OnlineComponents.com. The AI platform may also misunderstand a request or combine information incorrectly.

You are responsible for independently verifying all important information before relying upon it, including:

  • Manufacturer part numbers.

  • Product specifications.

  • Compatibility and suggested alternatives.

  • Pricing and discounts.

  • Inventory and availability.

  • Factory lead times.

  • Minimum order quantities and order multiples.

  • Packaging.

  • RoHS status.

  • Country of origin.

  • Export classifications.

  • Tariffs, taxes, and shipping costs.

  • Product lifecycle or discontinuation status.

The information displayed directly on the applicable OnlineComponents product page and confirmed during checkout or through a written quotation controls over conflicting information presented by the Plugin or an AI-generated response.

The Plugin and its responses do not constitute engineering, safety, legal, tax, export-control, or other professional advice.

4. Pricing, availability, quotations, and purchases

Prices, inventory, availability, lead times, product specifications, and related information are subject to change without notice.

Information provided through the Plugin does not constitute acceptance of an order, a guaranteed reservation of inventory, or a binding quotation unless OnlineComponents expressly confirms otherwise in writing.

Before submitting a purchase, quotation request, cart action, or other transaction, you are responsible for reviewing and confirming all relevant information.

Purchases and sales through OnlineComponents are governed by the applicable OnlineComponents Terms and Conditions of Sale:

https://www.onlinecomponents.com/downloads/saleterms.pdf

If these Terms conflict with the Terms and Conditions of Sale regarding a product purchase or transaction, the Terms and Conditions of Sale will control for that transaction.

5. Accounts and authorization

Some Plugin functions may require you to authenticate using an OnlineComponents account or authorize access to certain account information.

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account.

  • Reviewing the permissions requested by the Plugin.

  • Ensuring that anyone using your account is authorized to do so.

  • Promptly revoking access if you believe your account or authorization has been compromised.

  • Confirming any proposed action before allowing the Plugin or AI platform to perform it.

You are responsible for all activity performed using your account or authorization, except to the extent caused by OnlineComponents’ failure to use reasonable security measures.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the Plugin only for legitimate business or personal purposes and in compliance with applicable laws.

You may not:

  • Use the Plugin for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive purposes.

  • Attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits, or security controls.

  • Access another person’s or organization’s data without authorization.

  • Introduce malware or attempt to interfere with the Plugin or OnlineComponents systems.

  • Reverse engineer, probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without written authorization.

  • Use automated requests in a manner that places an unreasonable load on our systems.

  • Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract OnlineComponents data for unauthorized resale, redistribution, model training, or creation of a competing database.

  • Misrepresent information returned by the Plugin as guaranteed or independently verified.

  • Use product information in safety-critical applications without appropriate independent engineering review.

  • Use the Plugin or its data in violation of applicable export controls, sanctions, or restricted-party requirements.

  • Instruct an AI system to conceal, override, or evade Plugin security and confirmation requirements.

We may apply usage limits or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, our systems, suppliers, or business partners.

7. Privacy and data handling

Our collection and use of personal information in connection with the Plugin is described in the OnlineComponents Privacy Policy:

https://www.onlinecomponents.com/en/privacypolicy/

When you use the Plugin through ChatGPT or another third-party AI service, your prompts, account information, tool requests, and Plugin responses may also be processed by that service. Its privacy policy and terms govern its handling of that information.

Do not include passwords, payment-card information, authentication tokens, confidential technical information, or unnecessary personal information in prompts.

8. Third-party platforms

The Plugin depends on third-party platforms and technologies, which may include ChatGPT, OpenAI services, hosting providers, authentication providers, and other integrations.

OnlineComponents does not control and is not responsible for:

  • The availability or operation of third-party platforms.

  • AI-generated content created by third parties.

  • Changes made by a third-party platform.

  • A third party’s privacy, security, or data-retention practices.

  • Losses caused solely by a third-party platform or unauthorized third-party service.

Your use of ChatGPT or another AI platform remains subject to that platform’s separate terms and policies. OpenAI is not a party to these Terms, and the Plugin is not an OpenAI product.

9. Intellectual property

The Plugin, its software, branding, documentation, design, and original content are owned by OnlineComponents or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Product names, manufacturer names, trademarks, specifications, datasheets, images, and other supplier content may belong to their respective owners.

These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use the Plugin for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.

10. Availability and modifications

We may update, modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Plugin at any time.

We do not guarantee that the Plugin will:

  • Always be available.

  • Operate without errors or interruptions.

  • Support every product, region, language, or AI platform.

  • Retain the same tools or functionality.

  • Return information within a particular time.

Scheduled maintenance, system failures, supplier-data changes, security incidents, or third-party outages may affect availability.

11. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PLUGIN IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

ONLINECOMPONENTS DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES RELATING TO THE PLUGIN, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AVAILABILITY, AND ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

ONLINECOMPONENTS DOES NOT WARRANT THAT AI-GENERATED RESPONSES, PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS, ALTERNATIVE-PART SUGGESTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, PRICING, INVENTORY, OR AVAILABILITY INFORMATION WILL BE COMPLETE, ACCURATE, OR CURRENT.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ONLINECOMPONENTS AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE PLUGIN.

THIS INCLUDES LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, GOODWILL, OR PRODUCTIVITY, EVEN IF ONLINECOMPONENTS WAS ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

ONLINECOMPONENTS WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSSES RESULTING FROM RELIANCE ON AN AI-GENERATED RESPONSE WITHOUT INDEPENDENT VERIFICATION.

LIABILITY RELATING TO A PRODUCT PURCHASE REMAINS SUBJECT TO THE LIMITATIONS IN THE APPLICABLE ONLINECOMPONENTS TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless OnlineComponents and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from:

  • Your misuse of the Plugin.

  • Your violation of these Terms.

  • Your violation of applicable law.

  • Your infringement of another party’s rights.

  • Actions performed through your account or authorization.

  • Your use of product information without appropriate independent verification.

14. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Plugin and revoke its access at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe that:

  • You violated these Terms.

  • Your use creates a security, legal, or operational risk.

  • Your account has been compromised.

  • Suspension is required by law or by a third-party platform.

  • The Plugin is being discontinued.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective, including intellectual-property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Plugin will be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Phoenix, Arizona, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. When changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Plugin after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those updated Terms, except where applicable law requires another form of notice or consent.
