Bulgin has launched a new range of Rectangular Power Connectors that come in 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12 pole varieties. These rugged connectors were designed for demanding cable to cable applications.
These connectors have a 13A current rating that offer continued reliability in harsh environments. While their silicone rubber seals conform to IP68 and IP69K standards and protect against water and dust. They also meet EN60058-2-52 compliance so they can be used for marine deployment.
“These connectors’ mouldings consist of polybutylene terephthalate with polyamide glass fibre reinforcements embedded. Their contacts are made of copper alloy, with either nickel or gold plating specified. 14AGW to 20AWG diameter wires can be accommodated. A variety of optional added features are available for the Bulgin connectors. These include enhanced seal retention capabilities, protective end caps, shrink boot adapters, welded flanges and terminating resistors. Y-type connector terminations are also offered, to address automotive implementations,” Electronic Sourcing noted.
These connectors have operational temperature ranges of -40°C to +120°C. Their durability comes from support of 100 mating cycles and an insulation resistance of over 1000MΩ (at 500VDC) prevents leakage current issues.
Wedge-locks are supplied for greater contact retention, resulting in the ability to withstand forces of 111N. An insulation resistance of over 1000MΩ (at 500VDC) prevents leakage current issues.
